Account Manager - South

Thriving international food ingredient company is looking to hire a Southeast Regional Sales Manager to manage sales and customers in its Southeast US market. The sales executive will report to the VP of Sales and will be responsible to drive sales activities in the company’s primary target markets of beverage, dairy and confectionery industries as well as creatively target sales into other potential areas.

Responsibilities include

Field related:
• Prospecting and acquiring new customers while maintaining and growing the territory’s established customer base.
• Monitoring and addressing customer needs and identify key account contacts.
• Plan and drive steps to build and maintain customer satisfaction levels in both product and service areas to be superior to that of the company’s competitors.
• Negotiate prices and obtain sales agreements for single sales and long-term sales, maximizing sales revenue while adhering to sales margin requirements.
Special Tasks:
• Assist in the development of a territory sales and marketing strategy that includes surveying the market within the territory and obtaining requisite background information on products or product groups and potential customers in the territory within the scope of your direct sales activities. 
• Observe and understand competitors and competitive products as well as market trends.
• Be familiar with the basic health and food laws within the geography and the economic environment of the territory and how they might impact sales within the territory.
• Participate in internal and external product and sales courses and seminars.



MUST HAVES  
• Minimum of 5 years’ successful sales experience in the flavor / ingredients industries
• Proven track record of maintaining existing accounts and opening new customer accounts
• Success in exceeding sales quotas and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to keep and submit thorough and timely records and reports




IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this Sales Manager position will be strongly self-motivated with a desire to succeed. This person will operate out of a fully-equipped home office and is expected to drive their own sales success with reasonable guidance and support of the VP of Sales and home office support staff.



Senior Commodity Trader  - Detroit

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As senior trader you are responsible for developing, maintaining and expanding relationships with assigned accounts to meet and exceed annual objectives. Correctly analyzing market dynamics to identify opportunities and act on them, is part of your core competency.
At the same time, you will be overseeing a trade desk, defining and executing commercial strategies to allow for growth . 
You strive to become a pillar in the organization and are expected to actively contribute to building long term growth of a company with a flat organizational structure. 
Besides your commercial role you feel energized by sharing your experience and guidance with junior staff.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Meet and exceed defined volume and trading profit objectives for assigned accounts.
• Develop and execute both long-term and near term strategies for your assigned desk
• As product manager own, manage and promote your product within the commercial team 
• Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned accounts.
• Develop strong relations with overseas offices as well as Domestic suppliers.
• Coordinate the involvement of Customer Service, Logistics, Commercial Assistant and Sr. 
              Management to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
• Stay well informed about current industry and market trends and be able to converse 
              knowledgably with customers about these trends. Likewise, provide market input to Product 
              Managers.
• Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows.
• Prepare and present annual sales plans 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• A minimum of 10 years of sales experience with a demonstrated record of success. Experience 
              selling ingredients into the Food, Feed or Chemical Industry is highly desirable.
• Experience in the dynamics of soft commodity trade is required  
• Travel indication: 25% predominantly domestic

• SUMMARY:
This position is accountable for executing daily trading activity for fish, fish meal, oils and other traded marine products. Under the direction of the Marine Platform Leader, the Trader is responsible for developing a book of business sourcing and selling these traded marine products, including negotiating volumes, price and terms, while developing and supporting relationships with both the supplier and customer base. This position will require assistance in managing any risk position, closely tracking margin by trade, arranging freight and managing the cash flow and credit for the book of business. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with A/R, A/P, month-end variances, freight variances, over- and under-fills, and periodic forecasts. The trading activity is intended to complement the existing asset base, and also provide strategic insights into future growth opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. This position is accountable for executing daily trading activity within the Marine Platform.
2. Developments customer contacts, providing service to all customers for the Marine Platform as needed, creating business opportunities, writing contracts, executing on those contracts and executing any other transactional activities.  
3. Solid understanding of customer relationships and intense focus on service.
4. Assists in the management of logistics needs under the direction of the Platform Leader. 
5. Negotiates and trades with buy and sell side customers, as well as other service providers, on a regular basis.
6. Maintains a broad understanding of the markets being traded and the means for executing transactions, as well as an ability to resolve problems as they arise.
7. Manages any risk position associated with the trading book and provides management reporting as required.
8. Understands cash management and usage within the business. Minimize cash usage where possible while maintaining margins.
9. Reviews AR and AP balances and addresses issues in a timely fashion to maximize collection and provide timely customer service 
10. Assists to resolve month-end variances and freight variances, timely reporting of activity, and manages of over-fills/under-fills on contracts.
11. Actively participates in the annual forecast process.
12. Interprets market reports.
13. Devises hedging strategies.
14. Visits international suppliers.
15. Helps to educate and cultivate an understanding for the industry throughout the Company.

Overview / Accountability:

• Continue to drive the growth of the business. The portfolio is diverse including all flavors technologies for different End User Market (EUM)
• Lead the Taste Sales team and also lead the strategy for a particular EUM with a multidisciplinary team
• Responsible for achieving sales results, business development, including volume growth objectives and financial targets
